Indonesian slang

Healing

Taking a break or a trip to de-stress — “me time” after a hard stretch.

Origin:
Borrowed from English healing

How it's used

In Indonesian, healing rarely means medical recovery. It means getting away from work or study stress: a trip to Bali, a staycation, or just a coffee. It's often used jokingly, since almost any outing can be called healing. Casual and very common on social media.

Examples

  • Capek kerja terus, weekend ini mau healing ke Bali.

I'm worn out from work — this weekend I'm off to Bali to unwind.

  • Healing-nya cuma ke kafe sebelah, tapi lumayan lah.

My “healing” was just the café next door, but it's better than nothing.
