Indonesian slang

Bucin

Head over heels; someone who'd do anything for their partner.

Origin:
Short for budak cinta (“slave of love”)

How it's used

A bucin drops everything for their boyfriend or girlfriend — skipping plans, replying in seconds, posting couple photos nonstop. Friends use it to tease, and people cheerfully call themselves bucin too. Casual; close to “whipped” or “simp” in English, but usually affectionate.

Examples

  • Sejak punya pacar, dia jadi bucin banget.

Ever since he got a girlfriend, he's been totally whipped.

  • Dasar bucin, diajak main malah milih nemenin pacar.

Such a lovesick fool — we invited him out and he chose to hang out with his girlfriend.
