Indonesian slang
Baper
Taking things too personally or emotionally; catching feelings.
- Origin:
- Short for bawa perasaan (“bring feelings”)
How it's used
Someone who is baper reads too much into a joke, a comment or a kind gesture. It's used both for getting hurt too easily (jangan baper, cuma bercanda) and for developing a crush because someone was nice to you. Casual and very common; usually teasing.
